The sun has a way of lighting the darkest of paths and also warming both the body and soul. I'm notorious for sitting in my parked car and getting lost in its quietness and warmth. The kids in my neighborhood will sometimes walk up my driveway, tap on my car window, and ask me what I'm doing and my response more often than not is, "I'm just taking in the sunshine..."

My buddy Aaron was in town a few months back and he asked me if I wanted to drive his vintage VW bus and I kindly refused but before I knew it, he had jumped out of the driver's seat and into the back of the bus, just letting the vehicle roll down the street, so I did what any sensible person would do, I hopped in the cockpit and started to drive.

We've always been kids at heart but that brief interaction caused me to reflect on the sights and sounds around us and it took me back to remembering how the sun would feel in the late evening(s) just before I had to go back home, back to restart.

I didn't drive the bus for any length of time and before we knew it, we were saying goodbye to each other, however, all of this was done before the sun went down, before the moon came up, and after we were allowed to laugh and reflect on things we were thankful for... Like time... Like sunlight... Like tomorrow when we could possibly meet and do it all over again (the laughter and the stories).
