She Found... Me

She found me

When I was broken

Lost

Confused

She was the glue

But with a slightly different hue

Her glow was dim

Only noticeable because I knew

How to adjust my vision

In order to see through

All the minutiae

The fine details

She figured she could hide from view

A cunning creature

Whose voice was soft and calming

Like the sound of the morning dew

Are you listening…

There was a spark within

A burning desire to touch

A soul

Save the skin

Ask for forgiveness

Before and after committing the sin

Though not an illusion

Mirage

An oasis had sprouted within

At the thought of embracing

A creature as elusive

As the gentlest wind

Can you feel me now…

I’ve learned to like and love

In the dark

I’ve sat in silence

While voices have arced above and...

All around me

In the end who has found me

Here

Only time

A void

A room

These eyes

Yours and not mine

No lingering gloom

She found me

When I was whole

Not spinning

Still in control

Ready and able

A soul

Full

Sitting alone at a table

Waiting for…

The echo to become a voice

For the "almost" to become a choice

I watch the chair across from mine

A vacant space carved out of time

While the world moves on in frantic pace

I trace the ghost of a hidden face

How can someone feel so near

When the path between is never clear

A map drawn in disappearing ink

We stand together on the brink

Of everything and nothing at all

Afraid to fly, yet wishing to fall

Into each other’s arms

I reach through the static, the miles, the years

Through the logic of doubts and the salt of the fears

They taste sweeter, now

The objective is somehow

To find your hand, which seems close but not near

Which in the end begs the question

Are you still there
