Take A Seat

There's room for you too, if you decide to sit for a bit

We don't have to exchange words

We can allow the wind just to hit

Our faces, our minds

As we sit here, we can lose all semblance of time

You see the choice is really all yours

I've sat here for years

And weathered the storms

I've watch the grass grow

I've observed the trees die

I've even caught the eyes of an eagle, as it soared high above in the sky

Today, I heard your voice as it was carried through the air

I hoped you'd pop up and suddenly appear...

But

You didn't

Alas, there's room for you too, if you decide to sit for a bit

We can exchange words

And allow the wind just to hit

Our feet, our toes

Softly

As softly as the touch of your hands within mine
