Make A Wish...

How often do we see the time align on a clock/watch/phone and then say to ourselves or another person, "Hurry up and make a wish"? I suppose if I were to be honest with myself, many of my wishes have already come true and that's strange in and of itself.

Not too long ago I found myself standing on the side of hill, in the dead of night, looking out in the distance of an ever so vast environment, and wondering why I was being allowed to see the beauty in front of me. There is a part of me which longs for things to "line up" and stand still but for a minute or several minutes for that matter.

Today, I told a friend that I'm a hopeless romantic who finds solace within the four corners of my room and stiffness of the pillows which I sit on but do not rest my head upon. The retort to my comment was, "It's okay to be alone/feel alone, sometimes that's where we find love, within the darkness, sadness, stillness of it all." (Yeah exactly the look I gave too)

My wishes aren't for love, a family, a house, or fancy car; my wishes run along the lines of wanting peace not to feel as though I'm in pieces. The trick is finding the one star which will provide that wish!

As I stood here, I wondered if others would eventually view this picture and imagine being right next to me, standing, feeling the wind against their face, hearing the sound of the creatures of the night, whilst watching the stars dance within their eyes.

A picture is worth 1,000 words they say, yet I believe a beating heart and active mind are worth so many more words/emotions. Perhaps we should try to picture this...

IF you wished for me

Twas your wish granted

Or

Did you pick the correct star

Are you sure you so me falling from afar

Only the darkness will reveal

There's time left for us to steal

When the stars align

And we no longer feel

The ice on our heels

Thus our cold feet

Within the warmth of the cold sheets

We dream of tomorrows maybe(s)

And we say things such as

Maybe...

Maybe we should make a wish

Softly smile

And clinch our fists

For dreams do come true

For the fortunate few

Who truly dare to dream

And believe in the IF...

I made a wish whilst standing on the edge of a hill, in the dead of night, looking out in the distance of an ever so vast environment, and wondering why I was being allowed to see the beauty in front of me.

The beauty all along has been you.
